#AskMahaMonday: Food Photography with Natural Light

Would you like to have a stack of extra fluffy pancakes topped with bananas, paired with coffee and served in bed? It’s one thing to paint a beautiful picture in someone’s mind, it’s another thing to create a visual that matches the story you are trying to tell!

Today’s tutorial is all about using natural light to create a dreamy photo of a breakfast in bed setup. Lighting is one of the most requested topics on #AskMahaMonday and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of posting about it! As I explained previously HERE and HERE, understanding light is super important and it’s one of the most important skills to master to improve your photography.

In this video, I am taking you behind the scenes, sharing each step of the way as I style and shoot this breakfast in bed pancake photo along with my camera settings, if you are ready, let’s dive in:

Now it’s your turn, do you like backlighting? Have you ever had a challenging experience with it?

Feel free to post your questions HERE and I’ll see you next week with another video :)
