#AskMahaMonday: How to batch-create your content for Instagram and save time!

How is it possible that everyone is able to cook a meal, shoot it and share it on Instagram every single day when you can't even decide what you're going to eat for breakfast?!

Wouldn't it be great if you didn't have to think or worry about what to post next because you've got it all figured out, you already have the pictures, the captions and all you need to do is hit post and voila!

Posting consistently on Instagram and having ready content might seem like an impossible task, except by following these simple steps, you can save yourself time and lots of frustration when it comes to creating content for Instagram:

1) CREATE YOUR STRATEGY:

Say what, strategy?! Yup, you heard that right! Having a strategy for your instagram will make your life much easier, it will also streamline the content creation knowing exactly what you need to shoot because you have a message or a story to tell and you understand your audience which means you will also know what type of content you want to create.

Is your strategy about getting people to try your recipes? Buy your product? Visit your blog?

Once you determine that, figure out the different categories of your life/business you want to post about which is all part of your story.

2) BATCH-CREATE CONTENT:

What does that mean?

It means you block time in your calendar for creating content for social media and you make the best out of your time and resources.

This can be easily managed by planning your shoot in advance; ask yourself the following: Do you have all the ingredients you need for the recipes you want to shoot? Can you use the same ingredients for different recipes? What can you prep in advance that will save you time on the shoot? Do you have all the props within reach?

Once you've figured that out and blocked the time slot, make the best out of your creations by taking different shots of the same recipe/setup, varying your angles, orientation and framing. This means you can later on use the different shots of the same dish on different occasions throughout your feed without the need to create a new image or recreate the dish.

3) PLAN YOUR FEED:

Now that you have a strategy and created your content, you need to plan your feed in advance to make sure that it looks cohesive and aesthetically pleasing.

The easiest way to achieve that is to use an APP that helps you plan your grid and move around the pictures to see how they all look next to each other till you are pleased with your overall feed ensuring that once you post your photos on Instagram the look and feel of your feed is how you want it to be, with maximum impact on engagement and aesthetics.
